ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
A naturalist photographer for over thirty years, Scott Price's work
has appeared internationally in or on the cover of numerous books or
publications.
Known worldwide for his ocean wildlife photography and for his wave portraiture,
and emulated by many, he strives to capture the natural color and texture of
breaking ocean swells. An intimate knowledge of the ocean and its
moods is a prerequisite for recording these images, and Scott prefers
to film from the water. His unique photographic techniques led him
into the field of action photography systems. He developed
lightweight, high impact underwater camera housings to meet his
needs, and these housings became the standard of professionals the
world over. They are no longer available to the public.
The photographs of the SEVEN SURFING DOLPHINS, INDIGO WAVE, and SOLAR
GOLD WAVE were taken with one of these camera housings. The
photographs presented on this web site were the result of years of
experience, timing, patience, and being at the right place at the
right time. All of Scott's photographs are taken under authentic
wildlife conditions. Absolutely no digital manipulation is used.
To seize the moment of the SEVEN SURFING DOLPHINS, Scott had to make
the most of the seven shots left on the roll of film in the camera.
The photograph was number thirty-seven, the very last frame on the
roll.
Scott's future plans include an interest in the California Brown
Pelican, filming both from the beach and from the water. Macro[close-
up] flower photography, scenic panoramic photography, videos, more
surfing dolphin photography [he has the most extensive collection in
the world], wave portraiture and a continuing commitment to capture
the most intimate details of nature on film.
